JFD Fights Grass Fires Near I-40

Jackson firefighters said they were kept busy Monday extinguishing grass fires. Fireman put out a grass fire along the busy highway around 11:30 a.m Monday morning. The location was between Christmasville Road and Campbell Street. Authorities said fireman also battled a separate grass fire along the same thoroughfare. Investigators have yet to say what sparked the blaze.
