Teacher Using Twitter In Test Review

A Maysville middle school teacher is using Twitter as a study tool.

Ella Bowling told The Ledger Independent that most of her students at Mason County Middle School already use Twitter or other social networking sites so she decided to incorporate it into her lessons

Bowling says she’s been discouraged from using social media in the classroom, but decided “if you can’t beat them, join them.”

She decided to use Twitter on Dec. 14 to help students review for a unit test. She says about 40 students participated and the average test score was 87 percent. She says she was “pretty pleased” with the outcome and has continued tweeting over Christmas break.

She says she’ll use Twitter even more when students return to classes next month.
