Spencer’s Body Brought Back

If you were in north Jackson Friday evening, you may have noticed a large group of motorcyclists traveling along North Highland. It was all part of an honor escort bringing the body of Airman Steven Spencer back to his hometown. Spencer, along with anohter airman were killed in a car crash earlier this week near Oklahoma City. The two were stationed at nearby Tinker Air Force Base. The group traveled to Memphis Friday afternoon to meet the plane bearing Spencer’s body and then escorted his family back to Jackson. The journey ended at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel on North Highland. Visitation for Airman Steven Spencer will be Saturday afternoon from 4 to 8. His funeral will be Sunday afternoon at 2. Both services will be held at George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home on South Highland.
