Kaklis Leaving Bethel University
Bethel University head football coach Dino Kaklis has resigned from the position to take a position with Easter Illinois University. Kaklis has been Bethel’s head coach for ten seasons. Kaklis leaves the Wildcat football program with a record of 60-46. His teams won three Western Division Mid-South Conference championships. “This was a hard decision because Nicole and I both love Bethel. This is an opportunity to grow as a coach however and we feel it is an opportunity we cannot pass up,” Kaklis said. “I feel good about what we accomplished at Bethel. I feel we are leaving the program much better than we found it. We built a new stadium and have experience some good success” Bethel President Robert Prosser commented, “We are always excited when one of our own has an opportunity to better themselves. We appreciate Coach Kaklis for his many contributions and wish him and his family the very best.” At Eastern Illinois University, Kaklis will coach under Dino Babers who was hired as head coach in December 2011. Babers was an assistant coach at Purdue University when Kaklis played there in the early 1990s.
