Police Still Searching For Dresden Shooting Suspect

7 Eyewitness News has learned new information in the search for the person who shot and killed a Dresden woman late Sunday night. It was around 10:30 p.m. that Dresden police were called to the home of Lori Williams, 44. Inside they found her fatally wounded, and they still need help finding the person responsible. Lakenya Allen still cannot believe her close friend was shot and killed. “My sister called me and said that ‘I found her.’ They tried to do CPR, I think, and didn’t realize that she was shot,” Allen said. The shooting happened at Williams’ apartment on Highway 118 in Dresden, where neighbors said she lived for four years. Her friends said they believe she was shot three times, but police have not confirmed that, as they search for answers, such as what the suspect or suspects look like. “We don’t have no idea if it’s a male or a female that was involved in the shooting,” Officer Gary Eddings said. Both investigators and Williams’ friends are not sure what may have led up to the shooting, but do not believe it was random. “She didn’t deserve it at all,” Allen said. “She was a good person. She would do anything for anybody.” And for that reason her family and friends want justice to be served. “This is what she gets. She gets killed, you know, trying to help people out and this is wrong, and the killers need to come and have justice done,” said another close friend of Williams, Linda Wright. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dresden Police at (731) 364-2255.
