Leaders Educate Public About Voter ID Laws
Some Jackson City Councilmen spent Saturday afternoon educating residents about the new voter ID laws. City councilman Ernest Brooks II, Scott Conger, and Johnny Dodd gathered at a local sports lough to answer questions for residents about the new law. They said the purpose of the forum is to educate and inform citizens about the new state law that requires photo ID. They hope to ensure all groups can participate in the upcoming elections. “Voting is an essential right and everyone’s voice deserves to be heard and we don’t want someone to go through the process of trying to vote and not being able to because they didn’t know what the new law stated,” said City Councilman Scott Conger.
