A sad note for law enforcement community in Gibson County. A longtime officer with the sheriff’s department has died. Gibson County Sheriff Chuck Arnold said Sgt. Charles Bufford died unexpectedly Monday night at Gibson County General Hospital. The sheriff said Bufford was a respected and dedicated officer and a gentleman devoted to his family and his church. The sergeant was a 24 year veteran with the department. Funeral arrangement s are incomplete at this time.
