Optimists Honor Officer of the Year
One of Jackson’s finest was honored by members of the Optimist Club, Friday. Officer Lee Jones was honored by the club at its officer of the year. Jones is a patrolman assigned to the south district. Club members said their selection team chose the two -year veteran based on his courtesy, professionalism and for the respect he shows to the citizens he serves. “It makes me feel good. It is overwhelming. I wasn’t expecting it, but i like it,” said Patrolman Lee Jones of the Jackson Police Department. There are three Optimist Clubs in the Hub City. The Jackson, Midtown and South Side Clubs. Together they have honored an officer every year since 1965.
