Body Found in Burn Pile
Authorities say an autopsy is planned on human remains found in a burn pile in rural Harrison County. A Mississippi Power Co. worker found the remains about 12:45 p.m. Thursday on an unpaved access road to power lines. Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove says the remains were about one-hundred fifty to two-hundred yards north of Gulf Haven Road in an area leading into a heavily wooded area. The area is near Gulfport. Sheriff’s officials said detectives are checking on missing-person reports as part of their investigation. The death is being handled as a homicide.
