Manning Jersey Banned at School

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) – A Colorado third-grader has been sent home — for wearing a Peyton Manning jersey to school. Manning is the Denver Broncos new quarterback and wears number-18. But officials in the Greeley school district have banned clothing with 18 on it, because it’s associated with the 18th Street Gang. John Gates is the school district’s security director. He tells the Greeley Tribune he’s a fan of Manning and the Broncos, too. But he says there are no plans to allow Peyton Manning jerseys in their schools.
