Man Sentenced to Life in Girlfriend’s Death
A 47-year-old Brandon man has been sentenced to life in prison in the death of his girlfriend. Robert McGuire was convicted in the slaying of 61-year-old Linda Tate. McGuire was sentenced Wednesday by Circuit Court Judge John Emfinger in Rankin County. The shooting occurred Dec. 3 at the couple’s Brandon home. Police say Tate was shot once in the head with a small caliber pistol.
