No Indictment in Child Porn Investigation
A former Jackson County Sheriff’s Department employee assigned to the Internet technology department is no longer facing felony charges of possession of child pornography Court records show a grand jury determined there was insufficient evidence to indict Jeffrey Trehern on five charges of exploitation of a child. Trehern was arrested in November At the time of the arrest, Sheriff Mike Byrd said investigators trained to track child predators over the Internet did an exam of Trehern’s home computer and found images of children engaged in sexual activity. District Attorney Tony Lawrence said, while the forensic examination of Trehern’s computer revealed questionable activity, the examiner found no child pornography on the device.
