Police search for suspect in Tenn. student’s death

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Nashville police are searching for a 17-year-old in the fatal shooting of another 17-year-old who was walking to catch a school bus.

Police said in a news release Thursday that an arrest order for Eric L. Goodner has been issued in the death of Pearl-Cohn High School student Johnathan Johnson.

Authorities said Johnson left his house around 6:40 a.m. Thursday to catch a school bus moments before he was shot. Witnesses reported that the shooter was sitting on steps at a vacant lot. The shooter walked up to Johnson, shot him more than once and fled on foot. The motive of the shooting remains under investigation.

Police are asking anyone who knows Goodner or has seen him to contact the police.
