Deputy Chief Gerry Campbell to Retire from JPD

JACKSON, Tenn. – Jackson Police Deputy Chief Gerry Campbell has announced that he plans to retire from the department. Campbell did not give a retirement date but said he plans to give further details on his plans in the coming days. He has worked for the Jackson Police Department since August 1983 and currently is the Deputy Chief of Administration. Members of Northside United Methodist Church confirmed it was announced during services Sunday that Campbell will join the staff at the church. Campbell currently is the Lay Leader of the Memphis Conference of the United Methodist Church. The Memphis Conference includes 425 churches and numerous agencies and ministries in West Tennessee and Western Kentucky.
