Inmate Dead after Fight in Gibson County Jail

TRENTON, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating a fight in the Gibson County Jail that resulted in the death of an inmate. According to the TBI, they were called to investigate a fight between two inmates occurred in a cell at the Gibson County Jail, Friday afternoon. Ivory Pewitte, 19, reportedly received head trauma in the fight and was taken to the Regional Medical Center. Officials said he died from his injuries on Monday. The district attorney requested that the TBI investigate the incident. Investigators have identified a suspect and are continuing to look into the incident, but no one was been charged at this time.
