U of M Names Interim President

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.- The Tennessee Board of Regents has named a businessman as interim president for the University of Memphis. R. Brad Martin, a Memphis graduate and retired chairman of and CEO of Saks incorporated, and current president of his investment firm, was named interim president effective July 1. Martin, a former state legislator, will begin working with retiring President Shirley Raines on April 25. The search for a new leader will begin this summer with a plan to have a new president in place by 2014.
