HUMBOLDT, Tenn. – The family of the young man killed during a Gibson County jail brawl spoke out tonight as they gathered to make funeral arrangements. Emotions and pain ran deep as loved one looked through pictures of Ivory Pewitte; searching for answers in a tragedy that they said took one man’s life far too early. But those closest say the 19-year-old’s legacy will a lifetime. “He was just a special kind of person that touched many lives,” said Pewitte’s aunt, Robin Cox. “Anyone that met him, they remember Ivory. He just deserves peace. He deserves closure. And the family as a whole deserves close.” The family told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News that Pewitte was set to be released from jail in just over a month, at the end of May.
