JACKSON, Tenn.-“Hit me with your best pitch.” That was what some students heard today. The entrepreneur development center along with local colleges hosted a student entrepreneur “Shark Tank” business competition. Student entrepreneurs from participating universities pitched their business ideas before a panel of judges comprised of successful local entrepreneurs. The winning teams were judged on the viability of the business idea, the potential for marketability and sustained growth. “Our students will be better equipped to transition from the university to an actual job because they are gaining on the job experience during this time so i think it is a phenomenal opportunity,” said Dr. Martha Robinson with the University of Memphis. The winning teams received cash prizes ranging from $150 to $500 You can catch the real “Shark Tank” show on WBBJ ABC 7, Friday’s at 8 p.m.
