Man Accused of Giving Alcohol to Kids

HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn.- Henderson County deputies have charged a Lexington man for providing his three underage kids with alcohol. Deputies said a complaint filed with the department stated Richard Hopper allowed teens to have alcohol parties at his home. “We did receive a complaint that Mr. Hopper was allowing juveniles to drink alcohol, and the complaint also said marijuana,” said Captain Tracey Grisham of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department. A family member, who wished to remain anonymous, said there have been several parties at Hopper’s home, and more than just alcohol was consumed. “The 13-year-old tested positive for meth. He was living with his father at the time,” said the concerned family member. Deputies said they have no evidence that Hopper allowed kids to use drugs, but the would like other young party goers to come forward. “If other people did come forward, we will look into it. If your child was allowed to use it by him at his house, we sure will add charges,” said Capt. Grisham. Investigators said Hopper’s kids have been removed from his home. He has 10 days to turn himself into the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department.
