Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Youthtown

JACKSON, Tenn.- Dozens of golfers turned out Monday for the annual Youthtown Golf Tournament. The tournament took place at the Jackson Country Club and saw 52 teams participating in this year’s event. Organizers expected to raise about $90,000 for the organization. The money will help troubled youth and kids struggling with substance abuse. “What we’re trying to do is really help the kids and the families in and around the Jackson area,” said Nick Pappas, executive director at Youth Town. Pappas said insurance sometimes runs out for kids in their substance abuse program. If the young person is willing to stay, money from the tournament will help pay for their treatment.
