JACKSON, Tenn.- Many West Tennesseans who suffer from asthma are getting some relief thanks to a new procedure, called bronchial thermoplatsy. The non-drug procedure that can reduce severe asthma symptoms for people 18 and older. Doctors hope this treatment can complement current asthma medications by providing long lasting control over the chronic lung condition. One patient WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News spoke with said so far she was pleased with treatment. “You know, I can breathe deep at all times, there’s no wheezing , there’s no anything,” said Judy Griggs, an asthma patient. “I’ve been outside more in the past two weeks than I have in 20 years.” The procedure is done in three steps.
