Registered Sex Offender Arrested for Second Time in a Week

JACKSON, Tenn. – A registered sex offender was booked into the Madison County Jail for the second time this week, Friday. Chad Lutrell was booked back into the Madison County Jail early Friday morning. He is charged with two counts of violating the sex offender registry. He has since been released. According to the Madison County Sheriff‘s Office, the charges were filed against Lutrell after he allegedly attended a school function at South Side High School and obtained a screen name. Investigators said that both incidents constituted a violation of the regulations for registered sex offenders. Monday, Lutrell, 34, was charged with three counts of stalking and one count of assault. Investigators said that, on April 23, three women, who are employees at the Walmart on South Highland Avenue, came to the police department and reported similar incidents of Lutrell harassing them while they are working at Walmart. Lutrell reportedly approached the women and made sexual comments, which caused them to feel nervous and fearful. One of the women reportedly told police that in the summer of 2012, Lutrell approached her from behind, pulled her back and then kissed her on the cheek without her consent. Lutrell was convicted of sexual battery for a crime committed in Jackson in June 2009. In that incident, Lutrell inappropriately touched a 10-year-old girl resulting in him being placed on the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry.
