Brotherhood Ride Honors Fallen Fire Chief Kenny Fox

PARSONS, Tenn. – Dylan and Michael Fox said the spot where their father lost his life is a painful place, but it now has a new meaning thanks to the Brotherhood Ride. “There’s still good people in this world,” said Michael Fox. Fifty firemen, law enforcement and emergency personnel from around the country peddled their way from Alabama to Decatur County. The nearly 700 mile journey was to honor fallen fire chief, Kenny Fox, who lost his life battling a blaze just over a year ago. Stacy Ray helped plan the event to honor Fox. He said he is inspired by the selflessness of the members of Brotherhood Ride. “They’ve been on bicycles for nine days…nine days… from Florida to Parsons, Tennessee and it’s amazing,” he said. Those who knew Fox said his loss is one they will never fully understand or accept. “We’re a small town, small community, and everyone knew Kenny,” said Ray. “We grew up together.” Fox’s family said they are thankful their fathers’ legacy is being honored. They said even though he might not be here, his spirit will never die. “This just makes us proud and we appreciate every bit of it,” said Michael Fox. The Brotherhood Ride is a nonprofit Organization that was founded in 2007. It was created to honor the twelve fire fighters who lost their lives in a fire on June 18, 2007. Each year they honor heroes from around the country by riding bicycles from Florida to the victims hometown. The Brotherhood is completely run by volunteers, who are themselves, emergency responders, firefighters, police officers and EMS personnel. Donated proceeds go to go to the victims families.
