Preparations Being Made for Rockabilly Music Festival

JACKSON, Tenn.- With a change in venue, final preparations are underway for the annual Rockabilly Music Festival set for this weekend. Crews were moving sound and light equipment into the Ned McWherter Performing Arts Center on Main Street in downtown Jackson. Fans from around the world and across the Mid-South are expected to come and enjoy the music on the stage of The Ned. Some of the best known names of Rockabilly are scheduled to perform, including a group from Sweden. “If it stops raining they were saying it’s going be 90 to 95 degrees. We thought for the artists and for the fans especially, we would be more comfortable in The Ned,” said Henry Harrison, president of the International Rockabilly Hall of Fame. The festival starts Thursday evening and continues through Saturday.
