JACKSON, Tenn– Jackson Energy Authority is making plans to relocate its Customer Service Center Monday. The new facility JEA has purchased is located on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and is adjacent to the Post Office. The JEA closed on July 15 due to water damage and reopened with limited capacity three days later. Ted Austin, the manager of customer service, states that “We wanted to maintain our presence in downtown to support customers living in this area. Moving to the new facility will allow us to return to normal operations and better assist customers who have a need to visit us in the downtown facility.” The building was damaged by fire, smoke and water damage in 1974 as well as tornado winds and roof damage in 2003. The JEA is targeting Monday as the date the facility will open.
