Executive Director of Youth Town to Step Down
JACKSON, Tenn. –The executive director of Youth Town, Nick Pappas, is stepping down after more than two decades of leadership. Pappas said he plans to serve as a regional ambassador for the West Tennessee nonprofit. Through that role, he will remain an integral part of the team for the residential treatment center that also offers wilderness and therapeutic outdoor services. Youth Town is accredited to provide residential treatment services, services for substance use conditions and wilderness and therapeutic outdoor services for young men. Since Pappas became executive director, Youth Town has added two dorms, an administration building, a cafeteria and an accredited school, in addition to remodeling Hope and Rotary Cottages. “I can remember coming to Youth Town in 1992 with a picture in my heart and a command from God to honor Him,” Pappas said. “During the past 21 years, we have changed programming to adapt to the needs before us. Recently, we‘ve been blessed to purchase a property that will allow us to begin a treatment center for teenage girls. Faith and patience for reaping rewards are key in all of this work.” A board committee is conducting the search for Pappas‘ successor.
