Police: 2 dead in apparent murder-suicide
CHURCH HILL, Tenn. (AP) – Police say an East Tennessee man fatally shot his girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself.
The Kingsport Times-News (http://bit.ly/1fTVRb7) reports that Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson says 21-year-old Sierra Nichole Smith died Tuesday after being taken to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to her head.
He says her boyfriend, Thomas Kirk McCracken, 20, died from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Lawson said the shooting occurred at the residence where the couple lived. He said a motive hadn’t yet been determined.
