SOUTH JACKSON — Nursing students from Union University were out of the classroom, Thursday morning. Well, at least they were out of their classroom. They visited Malesus Elementary School in South Jackson to teach nutrition classes to the youngsters. They shared some tips about how to make their meals more healthy, and why they should get exercise every day. The nursing students even shared a a good formula to help kids remember how to stay healthy. “5-2-1-almost none means 5 fruits and vegetables a day, two hours or less of screen time and one hour of exercise and zero sugary drinks,” Leah Page, Union nursing student said. A team of students were at different schools throughout the area to promote healthy living.
