Headlining Firefighter Comedian Comes to Jackson
NORTH JACKSON — A first responder who claims he uses comedy to cope will be performing in Jackson this weekend. Travis Howze, from Charleston, will be performing at the South Street Comedy Club on March 14 and 15 at 9:30 p.m. Howze, a Marine Corps veteran, former police officer and current firefighter, is the headlining comedian with the Funny Under Fire Comedy Tour. While he was working as a firefighter in Charleston, Howze fought a warehouse fire that claimed the lives of nine firefighters. Howze has appeared on NBC’s Night Shift with Kevin Ferguson, and was voted South Carolina’s funniest person.
