EAST JACKSON, Tenn. — Aljernon Lloyd’s son and daughter spoke for the first time on Friday since losing their father. Jasmine Lloyd held back tears as she described her father as “simple but extraordinary.” Police said Aljernon was shot and killed Tuesday night. “If he were here, he would say just take care of business,” Jasmine added. That’s just what Jasmine and her brother, Sean Lloyd, are doing. Just hours after the man accused of shooting their father was arraigned in Jackson City Court, they are preparing to bury their dad. On Friday, a judge ordered Ytockie Fuller to be held without bond after he was charged with the murder of Aljernon Lloyd, Jr. Family members didn’t want to say much about the investigation or why they chose to miss Fuller’s arraignment, but they said they consider what happened to be a senseless crime. “You have a 64 year-old man, defenseless, and killed for no apparent reason,” Sean Lloyd said. Jasmine and Sean describe their father as a warm-hearted man, who believed in service and helping others. As his father’s only son, Sean said the two were just alike and his father had a great sense of humor. They both said it’s their father’s passion for helping those in need that they will always remember.
