School Board Approves Change in Insurance Carrier

JACKSON, Tenn. — A benefits change for all Jackson-Madison County school employees is approved by the board. The board approved a change in carriers for live insurance for district workers. “As we know insurance premiums and prices have gone up and we needed to make some decisions that would effect the district,” Dr. Verna Ruffin, superintendent of Jackson-Madison County Schools The board did not discuss the much talked about technology upgrade they are hoping for. They will know Monday whether the county commission will approve the more than $1 million expense. Before that vote, the board honored the Madison Academic Decathlon team. The students brought home first place in state competition.
