Officer Writes Children’s Book
WEAKLEY CO. Tenn. — A long time lawman in Weakley County is hoping his new children’s book will help serve as a bridge between children and officers. Investigator Eric Smith is a first time author, and says his new book “Sheriff Smith and Justice Investigate the Bedroom Monster” was a year in the making. The book came out in February. Smith tells WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News he hopes the new book will show children they don’t need to be scared of police officers. “As they get older, I see they become scared of us, and we don’t want that. We want them to be able to call us when they need us,” Smith explained. Smith says he plans on writing more Sheriff Smith and Justice books in the future.
