Andrew Jackson Children’s Run to Help in Fight Against Child Abuse

JACKSON, Tenn.-Friday night, it was time for children to lace up their running shoes. Kids of all ages supported child abuse prevention by running in a children’s marathon in north Jackson. The marathon was held on the campus of Union University. Organizers said that they hope that this event will help meet the need of families of have suffered abuse. “I am hoping the children will be able to heal from it. Everything they have been through the children and their families both,” said Julie McMahon, race director. More than 100 kids came out to Friday night’s marathon. There are expected to be hundreds for the adult marathon tomorrow.
