NORTH JACKSON — Alzheimer’s is a devastating disease for both the patient, and the patient’s family. This year is the fourth annual Alzheimer’s Caregiver’s Conference, and their hope is that caregivers leave with more knowledge about the disease. “It was approximately 4 years ago that my father was diagnosed with dementia,” Karen Grace said. “It’s just the same thing as Alzheimer’s.” Karen Grace isn’t alone in her father’s battle for his memory. “What he have learned is that Alzheimer’s has touched almost every family in almost any shape are form,” Jan Boud, conference Co-Chair, said. “And so there are a lot of people looking for help and information and education.” Those people looking for help were the inspiration for Jan to start the conference. The conference will be held April 9 and 10 from 8:30 to 3 at Union University.
