EAST JACKSON — Jackson Police say residents are cooperating with the shooting investigation that left a teenage wounded in the middle of the afternoon, last Friday. However, they still need help. A witness told WBBJ that she saw a man chase down the 17-year-old victim near Stonewall and Whitehall Streets. The juvenile victim was hit in the arm and abdomen, but is now recovering at home. Investigators say right now they are working with just a vague description of the suspect, who is described as a black man about 5’9 with a medium build wearing a gray jacket or hoodie. “Right now, we don’t have a lot to work on,” Lt. Phillip Stanfill said. “We’re still trying to locate witnesses and people. We’d like anyone with any information to come forward and contact the police department or Crimestoppers. Calls or web tips to Crimestoppers are anonymous, and award money is given for valid information.
