Jackson Couple Indicted For “Crime Spree”

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Jackson couple was indicted by the Madison County Grand Jury on 10 counts for a December and January crime spree. According to police, Garrett Paige, 26, and Jennifer Morris, 22, both of Jackson, committed five of the 10 crimes together and were both indicted for burglary, theft and vandalism for a break in at Aloha Pools. They were also both indicted for aggravated robbery and vehicle burglary for an attack on an 82-year-old woman. Paige acted alone and was indicted for three counts of theft and one count of identity theft for stealing purses at Kroger and using a bank card from one of the stolen purses. Morris was individually indicted for aggravated robbery for an attack on a 76-year-old woman. Paige and Morris are both in custody at the Madison County Jail in lieu of bond. They will be arraigned next Monday in Madison County Circuit Court. On Dec. 12, Morris threatened an 82-year-old woman with a stun gun on the parking lot of Batteries Plus on Innsdale Cove off of Vann Drive. Morris then reached into the victim’s purse that was laying in the car seat and took her wallet. Morris’ boyfriend, Paige, was the getaway driver. Over a five-day period in late December, Paige stole the purses of three different women at Kroger, located at 941 N. Parkway. On Dec. 23, Paige took an 83-year-old woman’s purse from her cart while she was shopping. On Dec. 24, a 73-year-old woman was loading groceries in her car when Paige took her purse from her shopping cart.
