Cameras Ordered to be Installed in High Crime Areas

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Earlier this winter, we told you about surveillance cameras that were to be installed in high crime areas. This week, Captain Mike Holt with the Jackson Police Department says the cameras have been ordered and will be assembled and installed as soon as they are received. Jackson received a grant that will pay for the cameras. At least a dozen cameras will be installed each year for the next 3 years which will end up to be around 40 cameras total. The program also encourages continued police presence.
