JACKSON, Tenn.- It may not come as a surprise if you’ve filled up lately. AAA said the area is seeing the highest gas prices since last August. According to price tracking website gasbuddy.com, average prices in Tennessee have risen 5 cents a gallon in the last week, bringing the average price per gallon to $3.40. The national average is still higher at $3.55 a gallon. “Gas prices are high, I’m getting ready to fill up and I know I’m going to end up paying about 80 bucks,” said Jerry Day, a motorist. Energy experts said the prices are expected to continue the upward trend as we make our way toward Easter travel and the summer travel season.
