Books Donated to Madison County Third Graders

EAST JACKSON — A local organization help fill the shelves of elementary libraries on Thursday morning. West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation donated books to each public elementary library in Madison County. Every library will receive the amount of books equivalent to the number of 3rd graders each school has. Organizers say they hope the books will inspire the students to read. “So they have an opportunity to check out books, read ’em, take ’em home and find a subject they’re interested in,” Scott Conger with the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation said. The reading levels of the books vary from 3rd grade to 5th grade.
