HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — The person who sparked a manhunt on Wednesday has been located and arrested. According to Mark Azbill with Tennessee Highway Patrol, the story started around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday following a single-car roll-over wreck along State Highway 114. Witnesses on the scene said that a 5-year-old, believed to have head injuries, was ejected from the car during the wreck. When the witness approached to help, James Cody Melton, the driver, allegedly refused and carried the child into the woods. The child was found safely, taken to Henderson County Hospital, where they were treated and released. Melton was located separately. After being treated at the hospital, he was booked into the Henderson County Jail. Charges against Melton are pending. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News will have more on this story as it develops.
