WEST JACKSON — More than 100 people cast early ballots in the upcoming May primaries on Wednesday. In addition to the 135 citizens that voted early, 113 votes were already cast by nursing home voters and absentee voters — bringing the total to 248. New this year to voting procedures is the required photo identification that voters can bring. “Previous to now, you could use a state driver’s licence from another state, you can no longer do that,” Kim Buckley, Administrator of Elections, said. “We will accept Tennessee state documents that have your photograph on them or a federal ID that has a photograph.” Early voting runs through May 1.The actual primaries are on May 6. Early voting hours are from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 to 12 noon on Saturdays. Early voting will not be held on April 18 in observance of Good Friday. To find out times and location for early voting in your area, call your county election commission office.
