NORTH JACKSON — The case moves forward for one of the two former Sonic workers charged with setting their workplace on fire. Dezeare Higgs had her hearing rescheduled. Kimberly Chalker waived her right to a preliminary hearing, which means a grand jury will now hear the evidence against her. Investigators say on April 2, the two can be seen on surveillance video putting paper and trash into a garbage can inside the Sonic on North Highland Avenue. Chalker is accused of setting it on fire while Higgs watched.
