Added Police Presence at Paris Fish Fry

PARIS, Tenn.- The World’s Biggest Fish Fry is underway in Paris. If you are headed to the parade Friday, be prepared to see more officers than usual. Thousands of people came out for Thursday night’s carnival and rodeo. A big difference this year is the added police presence throughout the entire festival. That was announced earlier this week when arrest warrants were served in a park shooting in Paris. One of the two suspects, Markia Patton is still on the run. At Friday’s parade police said they will be checking all bags brought into the festival. “The parade always draws a large crowd and we just want to make sure that everyone has a good time and everybody is safe and everything goes off without a hitch,” said Capt. Damon Lowe of the Henry County Sheriff’s Dept. The parade will start at 10 a.m., Friday morning in downtown Paris.
