West Tennesseans Head East to Help Tornado Victims

LINCOLN COUNTY, Tenn. — Among those helping the victims in Lincoln County are members of the Jackson area Red Cross. The group left on Tuesday morning with a truck full of supplies. Right now, volunteers from our area say they’re waiting on officials to access the needs in the area. “Right now they’re doing damage assessment — finding out what the needs are,” Jennifer McCraw, the CEO of the Jackson area Red Cross said. “We’ll be doing mobile feeding until we’re directed otherwise by the EMA.” People can donate by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. These donations enable the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small.
