Man Charged in 2012 Murder Ordered to Be Held Without Bond

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The Jackson man linked by DNA to a 2012 homicide has been ordered to be held without bond. Craig Taylor, 21, was arraigned on Wednesday afternoon for the charges of first degree murder during the perpetration of attempted aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated robbery. Police say Taylor left behind a camouflage mask after trying to rob a woman then fatally shooting her boyfriend outside the couple’s home on Leland Lane. Taylor was arrested 17 months after the shooting death of Devon Staten, 24. He will be in city court on May 8 for his preliminary hearing
