Police Investigating Shooting on Carver Ave.

BREAKING NEWS JACKSON, Tenn.- As gunfire rings out along Carver Avenue in east Jackson police said two people were shot, one of them has died. making him the sixth homicide of 2014. Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division were busy Monday night looking for who is responsible for the latest gun death in the Hub City. Witnesses said at 8 p.m., shots rang out along Carver Avenue. One man suffered very serious injuries and was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Several people came out right after the shooting. Police described the crowd as hostile. Minutes after the initial gunfire officers said a second gunshot victim was dropped off by private vehicle at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, but the driver did not stay around. Officers are not commenting on which victim died, if they have determined a possible motive or if they have anyone in custody.
