Jackson Man Convicted of Rape of Minor

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A jury found a Jackson man guilty of an aggravated statutory rape of a minor in 2013. Following a Wednesday trial in Madison County Circuit Court, Division I, a jury convicted Jestin Knox, 31, for having sexual contact with a 17-year-old girl. Knox will be held in jail pending sentencing in Circuit Court at 9:30 a.m. on June 16. Knox faces a sentencing range of four to eight years in prison. In April 2013, the girl’s mother called Jackson police after she had learned about the incident. An investigation revealed that on March 26, Knox, who was a friend of the family, picked the girl up from her house and took her to his Jackson home. He then performed a sex act on the girl. Knox was notified that he was wanted by police and surrendered June 3.
