JACKSON, Tenn. — Pathways is reorganizing 3 of its behavioral health locations throughout West Tennessee. The Pathways facility in Bolivar, which includes a staff of 5, will close, and two facilities in Martin and Union City, with a combined staff of 25, will consolidate services at the Union City location. This will result in the elimination of 10 positions, effective July 1. A similar service currently is available in Bolivar, and the Martin and Union City locations are only 15 miles apart. “The increasing cost of providing services for the uninsured along with declining payment for services has forced West Tennessee Healthcare and other hospitals throughout the state to adjust their operations to remain sustainable,” Bobby Arnold, President/CEO, West Tennessee Healthcare, said in a statement. The Pathways facility in Bolivar offers outpatient counseling, case management and medication management services. Plans call for the psychiatric rehabilitation program housed at the Martin facility to be relocated to the Union City facility. The Union City location will offer outpatient counseling, case management services, and medication management services in addition to the psychiatric rehabilitation program.
