PARKERS CROSSROADS, Tenn. — An artillery demonstration in Parkers Crossroads was one to remember on Sunday as West Tennesseans shot cannons and guns to commemorate the civil war, in a first of its kind show at the battlefield. “Our artillery crews are out working on their guns, learning safe procedures and having fun,” Billy Altom said, a Brigadier General for Armies of Tennessee. Events at the park are free and open to the public. “It was a request by our park superintendent he wanted programs here once a month to bring spectators,” Altom said. The battlefield says their next event will be planned in June.
