Veterans, Children, Law Enforcement Commemorated With Flags

NORTH JACKSON, Tenn. — A sea of red, white and blue was dedicated to America’s heroes and fallen children on Saturday morning. The Jackson Exchange Club and volunteers placed more than 1,000 flags dedicated to military veterans, emergency service workers and police. Volunteers also posted 40 special flags for the 40 children that have died from child abuse in West Tennessee. Exchange Club members say planting flags for America’s heroes is always emotional. “I mean, it’s just such a great sight when you pass down the 45 bypass to see all these flags and it just makes your heart swell,” Anna Page said, Chair of Flags of Freedom. Volunteers say money for the flags comes from sponsors throughout West Tennessee, who get their name and the person they want to honor on a special tag.
